I went to Beaver Creek Camp near Saskatoon, SK for Women's Camp this weekend. It was a long drive there on Friday and a long road home today! As Sandy and I drove today I commented on how straight the road is once you leave Saskatoon all the way to Edmonton. There are very few twists and turns in the road. There are a few turns near The Battlefords - other than that - its pretty straight and pretty flat. It was nice to have someone to talk to on this trip. Since I have been home, I started thinking about the road home to heaven. It is not always as straight and easy as the road was today. There are often troubles that face us - ruts in the road of our lives - or twists and turns!
James says in James 1:12 - "Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him."
I hope I can stand the test - be faithful to what God has called me! I wonder when the trials are going to stop! Maybe never because if life were easy - how would we grow and mature into the person God wants us to be? I want the crown of life!
